What to Expect When Working with JW Hall Design/Build

DESIGN:
What to expect before signing the Design Agreement:
We will call you with questions about your project. We will ask about you and your significant other's visions, ideas, expectations and the scope of your project.

We will explain the design process to you, what level of service might be appropriate for your project. We will discuss the design and permitting process to you and explain the three basic tiers of design service that we offer We will show you, via the web, several similar projects and a set of plans that you can view and give you an estimated cost, timeline and completion date.

If you wish to move forward, we will schedule a Conceptual Design Meeting with you and our designer at your location. We will explore the structure with you and how it might be adapted to fit like a glove around the way you would like to like or work. We will discuss your tastes, your likes, and dislikes, and examine the building in terms of both form and function. We will determine, with you, the most effective way to achieve your goals, within your budget, and present the design agreement.

What to expect during the conceptual design phase:
We will create a 3D CADD Model of your project and set up an appointment for a tour either in person or via web. We will then present you with up to three iterations of the floor plan and elevations. We will be in frequent contact with you and available online as it fits your schedule to explore alternatives and see them visuallized on the CADD Model. We will create a web archive for your project as a shared resource for everyone involved. When you are ready, we will ask that you formally accept the design.

What to expect during the construction design phase:
We will create a set of working drawings. Where needed we will work with outside proffesionals to insure the success of your project. We will submit to you a complete set of Architectural drawings, suitable for construction. We will schedule the Final Design meeting to review the project, and clearly outline the the process required to move the building through permitting and into construction. We will answer your questions and offer our suggestions. If retained to do so, we will obtain all required permits. We will help you locate the right contractor for your project.
